The Great Lakes
This week we studied the Great Lakes in our summer program. We discussed the enormity of the lakes, endangered species, modes of transportation and location of the lakes. The discussions were very lively and it was clear that the children had spent time formulating their thoughts and were excited to their ideas. The hottest topics were ways to rid the lakes of pollution and improve the lives of the endangered species. Many children push-pinned tugboats, made books (pictured) and colored maps of the Great Lakes.
