Today, as part of their art class, the elementary students sketched out a foundation for the Art Miles mural project. The Art Miles project has been underway for twelve years, and all of the murals from around the world will be displayed on the pyramids in Egypt in 2010.
The mural integrates many elements from our students' drawings of a peaceful planet: children, animals, the peace sign, and the Keystone hands. Children drew the outlines today, and we can all come together Sunday, the 20th, from 1pm to 3pm to use paint to bring their drawings to life!
In the picture here, a student creates the border, marking every six inches. "That's 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42..." said a classmate. "How did you know those so fast?", I asked. "I just know the six chain" was the answer.
