In art, the elementary children worked on self portraits. Looking into a mirror, students then drew what they saw. With some guidelines about spacing the features on a face, the children enjoyed observing carefully, then recording what they observed. Of course, these are foundation skills for science as well as art: noticing small details, then recording your observations in words and images.
